First Year Technician Technology Services Overview Series

Technicians will review the parameters of support services offered by Technology Services.  Specific utilization of the iSupport software will be reviewed as it pertains to efficiently serving the customer regarding district  Service Level Agreements.  Customer Service support skills will be identified, shared and discussed.

Food Service Equipment Training

The Technician will identify Food Service equipment and learn to troubleshoot common issues. 

Course Goals include:
  • Identify the components of the system
  • Learn how to reimage a Point of Sale system.
  • Troubleshoot common issues
  • Identify specific escalation procedures and routes

Laptop Repair I Training

The Technician will identify non-Warranty laptop issues and how to repair them
Course Goals include:
  • Identify district adopted laptop models
  • Utilizing Hayes TipWeb, determine the warranty of equipment.
  • Learn the steps to replace laptop keyboards.
  • Learn the steps to replace laptop LCD screens.​​​​​​

Monitor Repair I Training

The Technician will identify non-Warranty monitors and how to repair them.
Course Goals include:
  • Understand the difference between ViewSomic VG730M and ViewSonic VG730M-# monitors.
  • Identify tools necessary for repair
  • Learn the steps to dismantle monitors
  • Identify the different capacitors that can be found on a monitor power board.  Locate and identify the microfarad and voltage ratings.
  • Identify bad capacitors.
  • Use solder and the soldering iron to remove and replace capacitors.

Official District Asset Audit Training

Technicians will discuss the audit process procedure.  Information will be shared regarding the most efficient means to complete a campus wide inventory audit.  Service Level Agreements associated with the Inventory process will be reviewed to ensure compliance. ​​​

Printer Repair I Training

The Technician will identify non-working printers and the steps to repair.
Course Goals include:
  • Identify district adopted printer models
  • Utilizing Hayes TipWeb, determine the warranty of the equipment.
  • Identify tool(s) necessary for repair
  • Define the consumable items
  • Perform basic troubleshooting

Raptorware vSoft Training

The Technician will identify the vSoft software and hardware system, and correctly install it at a campus. 
Course Goals include:
  • Identify the components of the system
  • Understand the purpose of the Raptorware vSoft system
  • Learn how to install the vSoft software, Raptor scanner, and Raptor printer.
  • Learn how to calibrate the Raptor scanner.
  • Learn how to perform a test print of an ID label.​​​​​​
